Seeking Full- and Part-time Pediatric Hygienists

Clearly you love teeth because you’ve made it your career. But do you love kids, too? Do you like cute little smiles, funny jokes, and occasional screams and tears? Yes, it happens. Children’s dentistry is both a reward and challenge. (And children’s dental tears and screams are a lot more rational to deal with than adult screams and tears, right?) If you’re up to it, and maybe tired of crying adults, we’d love for you to join our team.

Sprout Dental is seeking a Part-Time Dental Hygienist to support our mission of growing healthy smiles in our Honesdale and Hamlin offices. (Yes, we’re re-opening Honesdale a few days a week for hygiene checks with one of our favorite local general dentists.) The ideal candidate will be flexible enough to work in both environments.

As a Pediatric Dental Hygienist at Sprout Dental, we’ll look for you to manage our patients and their families, and to support the dentists and your fellow teammates to make sure everyone is comfortable and satisfied with their experience. Beyond bedside manner, we’ll ask you to apply your clinical skills to complete cleaning and hygiene appointments. This includes applying fluoride, taking x-rays and impressions, providing education, and supporting our doctor during our patients’ appointments.

Since we’re a truly focused team, there’ll also be times you may be asked to help in sterilization and maybe even out front. We celebrate specializations and skill sets, but we’re truly an all-hands-on deck kind of place.

Must have or obtain valid professional licenses, as well as CPR certification, TACT2 training (pending), HIPPA and OSHA training and certification, laser training and certification, nitrous oxide training and Child abuse, FBI, Criminal Screening and Drug Clearances. We will also need you to be able to lift 30 pounds, and assist with managing child behavior following best practices.

Job Type and Schedule: Full-Time is Monday-Thursday, 7-5 with an hour off for lunch. Part-time is TBD based on shared wants and needs.
