Fluoride

How do we feel about fluoride?

So nice of you to ask. We think in moderation, it’s important for the health of your child’s teeth. Whether you need to supplement fluoride or not, that’s another question.

You might get fluoride from your water or from certain foods. (It’s naturally occurring.) You may not need any more than that. So, have your water tested or call your water department to learn more about it’s mineral content. Then we’ll look at other factors including diet and dental products to help you find a fluoride solution that fits your life and promotes dental health.

As for fluoride and toothpaste, that’s a question we get a lot. The most important thing when it comes to fluoridated products of any kind is that they’re not swallowed. Fluoride is proven to be most effective through its topical (direct application) not systemic (swallowing) use.
