Grinding

Get out of the grind.

Tooth grinding (Bruxism in doctor talk) is common in kids. Roughly half of all babies grind their teeth.  Some grind sporadically, others grind all night. Most children will grow out of this habit by the time their adult teeth come in. Those that do grind daily may experience some wear but rarely does it result in needing treatment. If your child is still grinding into their teen and early adult years, we may recommend a mouth guard at night.

If bruxism is a concern, please bring it up at your next dental appointment so that your child’s teeth can be monitored for wear and tear and we can evaluate other grinding issues.
