Hola, Dr. Jenelle

Dr. Jenelle Alvarez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She admits Northeast Pennsylvania weather takes some getting used to. She’s been slowly building her tolerance, though, after spending a few years in Philadelphia attending Temple University’s Maurice Kornberg School of Dentistry and completing her Pediatric Residency through Temple University’s Episcopal Hospital.

Before heading north, Dr. Jenelle gained a lot of life experience in Gainesville, Florida where she earned her Bachelors of Science at the University of Florida. She’s always been a multi-tasker, and worked as a Legal Assistant during school and after graduation. Wanting to take her medical career further, Dr. Jenelle earned her Masters of Medical Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

So, what ultimately then brought this Florida girl north? Her husband, a general dentist himself, who was born and raised in Scranton. Family is everything to Dr. Jenelle. Her dream is to live a peaceful life with her husband and ultimately have children of their own. (In the meantime, she’s extremely happy to be caring for kids as a pediatric dentist and going home to her dog Woodson.)

Although she describes herself as shy, she’s known to become incredibly outgoing, playful, and even a prank player once she warms up. So, if she’s quite at your first appointment, you better watch out at your second. Before you know it, she’ll have found some mystery flavor toothpaste like Mustard or Cabbage. (Just kidding, she’d never do that.) If you do want to sweeten her up, though, bring her a bouquet of yellow dahlias with a Classic Coke – don’t tell the other dentists – and maybe some Luke Combs tickets. Not that we’re encouraging you to bribe your dentist.

Besides all her other unique history and qualities, what really sets Dr. Jenelle apart from our other dentists is that she’s a fluent Spanish speaker, offering a new voice and level of understanding for our office and its patients.
